We found a front yard entirely paved with a magnolia tree, with vehicle access to the garage. The brief was to provide a covered carport and to create a private space protected from viewing from the street. 

With the design we turned this underused and uninteresting space into a series of “outdoor rooms”, dividing the space with wooden pine treated structures. Thus, there is a space under a pergola for the car that leads to the path to the main door. A dining area has been created by the kitchen windows under a Magnolia tree, and a lovely wooden bench to sit in the sun.

Wooden planters with climbing plants, small and medium size shrubs, and annual bedding are included in the design to surround the different areas with green which creates an intimate private space.
