The owners of this little garden located wanted a peaceful outside space to relax with family and friends. Surrounded by similar houses the brief included creating a personal style and a feeling of intimacy.

The design included an attractive welcome area at the entrance with evergreen planting for all year interest and a small lawn with curved shaped borders and a sitting area by the main door with a wood and iron bench.

To make the space seem bigger we opened an arch to get into the back garden, which open up the view to a recovered marble water feature at the end of the garden. The little fountain adds the sound of running water to the back garden. The garden also includes a sitting area and a dining area by the barbecue for “al fresco” meals. The planting design includes evergreen shrubs, small trees and climbing plants, as well as annual and herbaceous species to provide seasonal interest.
