The owners of this little garden like to spend time in it all year round, thanks to the southwest orientation. Keen gardeners, the space already had some small trees and a number of herbaceous species in good condition. The brief was to provide a strong structure so it would look good any time of the year.
The design divides the garden in two parts at an angle, with a brick paved area to provide space for sitting out in the shadow of the cherry tree, and a small lawn at the other side. The central piece is a low pool with a simple fountain to add the sound of water. The perimeter of the garden, as well as the different areas, has been marked with a brick paving edge. The planting plan included mainly evergreen shrubs and small evergreen groundcover plants to complement the species already planted in the garden.
